Don't Push It 🫸
Don’t push it when you’re recovering from an injury, they say. Apparently recovery is built on rest; but how about when I need to shove a shopping cart?
Today I got a ride to the salvage store; and of course I needed to use a shopping cart. “Don’t push it” didn’t work here; but I had to use my chest and right arm for propulsion. My left arm isn’t ready for it yet. I also tried not to stress my ribs, in case they aren’t healed. I needed to keep the arm close to my body; extending it while picking up/pushing things are what cause rib pain. Thank goodness I got enough stuff today that I don’t need another trip for a while; and my friend carried my bags to my front door for me.
I think my surgical site is affected by weather, though. It’s more bothersome today!
Affected by Weather 🥶 🌧️
Many things are affected by weather; including how much electrolyte drink I need during a ride. The hotter it gets, the more I need. If I happen to forget the electrolyte drink, I have to be careful; that’s when I cut the ride short; and don’t push it.
Our temperatures are turning cooler, at least for now; and that means things are affected by the weather. I suppose my elbow will take notice; and I hope it won’t rain. I’ll have to go out sometimes; and I’ve got to keep that splint dry.

ABOUT ME
I began this website primarily as a way to present the story of how I accomplished a century ride on an adult tricycle. Other riders of adult trikes might want to know whether it’s possible. It sure is! You can read all about it in My Story.
I live in New Orleans; and retired in January 2023. More time for cycling!
