Are the neighborhood electric wires coming down? A short while ago, I stepped outside to check my mailbox; and the wires looked like they were hanging lower than usual. The wind has been getting stronger for the past few hours; and gusts are now up to 40 mph! Wires coming down wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

I was thinking of setting up the trainer for some indoor pedaling; but if we lose power, I can’t run an electric fan to help keep me from overheating. I don’t have a wearable fan; not yet, anyway. Maybe it’s time I got one?

RAGBRAI Fan? 🪭

Yeah, I know, I’m a RAGBRAI fan; but how about a RAGBRAI fan for those hot days during the event? It can get very hot in Iowa during July; but I want to have as few things to keep charged up ⚡️ as possible. I’ve already got my cell phone; headlight; and bicycle computer on the list!

A cooling rag doesn’t need “juice;” and if I accidentally drop it and step on it, it won’t break. It also weighs very little; and packs into a small space.

I still have some time to decide. It’s not coming down to the wire just yet; and if I’m to buy any fan, I want the kind I can use at night if it’s hot in my tent. But that’ll be another device to keep charged!

ABOUT ME

I began this website primarily as a way to present the story of how I accomplished a century ride on an adult tricycle. Other riders of adult trikes might want to know whether it’s possible. It sure is! You can read all about it in My Story.

I live in New Orleans; and  retired in January 2023. More time for cycling!
