Welcome to the SpokEasy kitchen!

Some of these recipes are taken directly from books or web sites; some are my own inventions; and some are variations on recipes that I found here and there. They’re presented in no particular order, so please pardon the haphazardness.

It’s all very well to invent recipes, and to share them online. Sometimes I forget that there may be readers who are not familiar with stovetop cooking. Similarly, I’m none too comfortable with microwave cooking!

Most of the ingredients are easy to find: rice; celery; onions; and so on. It isn’t hard to cook grains, such as rice; and dry legumes.

If cooking is new to you, take it slowly; it’s like, well, learning to ride a bicycle!

ABOUT ME

I began this website primarily as a way to present the story of how I accomplished a century ride on an adult tricycle. Other riders of adult trikes might want to know whether it’s possible. It sure is! You can read all about it in My Story.

I live in New Orleans; and  retired in January 2023. More time for cycling!
