Some folks want no half measures; but at times a half-measure is better than nothing. That’s certainly true when it comes to cycling and bad weather!
Today again, the forecast was for showers and T-storms; and again I rode to the park to do laps. At least the sky didn’t seems as threatening as it did yesterday; and I rode four laps instead of three.
This gave me 10.64 miles; but that’s only a little over half of what I’d like to be doing. It’s hard to stick to “no half measures” when the possibility of bad weather is hanging over me, day after day.
Day after Day ☁️
We’re getting day after day of cloudy skies, along with rain threats. We’ve also got T-storm threats; and that, more than rain, is what’s thwarting me.
I hope this year’s RAGBRAI riders have better weather than we’ve been getting; perhaps especially when it comes to cornfields and KYBOs. I had to use a cornfield after a heavy rain; and my cycling shoes’ cleats got all clogged up with mud. I wished I’d had cleat covers!

ABOUT ME
I began this website primarily as a way to present the story of how I accomplished a century ride on an adult tricycle. Other riders of adult trikes might want to know whether it’s possible. It sure is! You can read all about it in My Story.
I live in New Orleans; and retired in January 2023. More time for cycling!
