Coming in Waves 🌊
The bad weather today is coming in waves; and it’s driving me crazy. Every time I think things are settling down enough for me to go out for a ride, along comes more rain! There’s even a flash flood warning for the next three hours. As there’s also some lightning, it’s probably wise to stay under cover.
I’d “ride” in the trainer for a while if I could; but the hybrid’s tires are the wrong size to fit. Every time I’ve tried to hitch the hybrid into the trainer, the wheel has gotten knocked off; and the road bike is still in the shop. I might have to miss riding for the day. 😒 Better luck next time, I guess.
Better Luck 🍀
I hope I have better luck with the weather tomorrow; and for the weekend, too. I’m considering switching things around; and visiting the salvage store tomorrow. Then I can try Saturday-Sunday back-to-back long rides.
Consecutive days of 20-mile rides are no longer a real challenge; so I think I’ll try for 30 miles or so. Or maybe I’ll shoot for 50 miles on Saturday; and do 30 or so on Sunday?
Although retired for over two years, I still seem stuck in the working person’s “do it all on weekends” mentality. But when bad weather keeps coming in waves, as today, it’s good to know that I can easily rearrange my riding schedule. It makes it easier for me to get better luck.

ABOUT ME
I began this website primarily as a way to present the story of how I accomplished a century ride on an adult tricycle. Other riders of adult trikes might want to know whether it’s possible. It sure is! You can read all about it in My Story.
I live in New Orleans; and retired in January 2023. More time for cycling!
