It took some doing to make the switch from the hybrid to a road bike. At first, the road bike was unnervingly twitchy; and the riding position of a road bike is very different from that of a hybrid.
My road bike is carbon fiber; and has a compact crankset. I didn’t choose it for those characteristics; nor for its brand. It just seemed to handle better than the other road bikes that I test-rode. In fact, I think it’s most accurate to say that I happened to manage that particular bicycle best by sheer chance. When you have zero experience with road bikes, you can’t be very discerning!
